Volunteers donate their time and money to fly 104 youth for Free at Lyncrest Airport

COPA For KIDS - Free flights for 104 Youth!!

Thanks to the help of neighbours, pilots, and friends, 104 youth aged 8 – 17 had the opportunity to fly for free 21st September, 2012 at Lyncrest Airport. Youth were treated to:

·         Ground school, which included an introduction to the ‘Walk-Around’ done before boarding an aircraft!  

·         Historical aviation brought to life with Burt’s Museum Tour!

·         Marshalling training with Adrian

·         Free hotdogs

·         Certificates acknowledging their flights; and

·         A Free flight over Transcona Winnipeg and the RM of Springfield!!

Youth learned new skills and reinforced the idea that their wildest dreams can be attained with hard work and determination!

If you or a youth you know  missed this event, the next Free rides for youth is an EAA Young Eagles event scheduled for June 8^th, 2013 and COPA for KIDS event Sept 21^st 2013  Event for women of all ages will be on an EAA EAGLE Women AirBorne event March 2^nd 2013! 

Each year Lyncrest hosts free flights for one COPA for KIDS, one EAA Young Eagles flights, and one Women AirBorne event. In 2012, over 600 youth and women of all ages flew in these events!! Register now for 2013!

For the Fall, at the Lyncrest Flight Centre community club, there are still a few spaces left for the Wednesday YOGA and Zumba on Mondays  beginning mid October.
